The annual Toyota US Woordfees kicks off next week and for SU as an institution and the town it is so much more than just an arts festival.
The SU campus provides a unique atmosphere for such a festival, especially for the Langtafel (Long Table) dinner on 5 March, which will be the official opening of the 2020 Woordfees. This year, the event moves to the tree-lined parking area in front of Admin B, as the closure of Ryneveld Street has caused havoc in the late afternoon traffic flow in the past.
In order to make the necessary preparations for 5 March, the section of the parking lot next to the Wilcocks Building on 4 March from 08:00 to 16:00; and on 5 March, the entire parking lot in front of Admin B and Admin C will be inaccessible for the duration of the day from 07:00.
Staff who utilise these parking areas, will be able to park behind the SU Museum, as well as make use of the Woordfees shuttle service, in addition to the SU shuttle service if you prefer to park at Coetzenburg. The Woordfees shuttle service runs according to a predetermined schedule. Please contact Khanita Rhode at krhode@sun.ac.za to arrange for use of shuttle services.
Regular parking will be available for use as usual on Friday, 6 March.
