The Cape Higher Education Consortium (CHEC) is offering four short courses on the following aspects of university teaching and learning in 2014:

  1. Emerging technologies to improve teaching and learning in HE: 2 April - 14 May 2014
  2. Transforming tutorial programmes in HE: 19 May - 19 June 2014
  3. Research on teaching and learning - Preparing for your proposal: 13 August - 10 September 2014
  4. Academic literacies for teaching and learning: Supporting undergraduate students: 17 September - 22 October 2014

These unique professional development opportunities for academics are a joint initiative of Stellenbosch University, the University of Cape Town, the University of the Western Cape, and the Cape Peninsula University of Technology.

The above institutions may each nominate ten lecturers for participation (per course). (The course on emerging technologies can only accommodate five lecturers per institution.) If you would benefit from attending one or more of these growth opportunities, it is therefore essential that you submit your details as soon as possible.

Course fees for SU lecturers will be paid by SU centrally.

Contact sessions will take place on the Bellville campus of the Cape Peninsula University of Technology.

For registration and/or more information, please contact Dr Karin Cattell at 021 808-3074 or kcattell@sun.ac.za.
