A position for a postdoctoral fellow is available in the Department of Biomedical Sciences at Stellenbosch University. The successful candidate will be required to test innovative lead compounds against M.tuberculosis in vitro and in vivo, building on our drug discovery research platform that focuses on compound testing, target discovery and validation. The person must preferably have experience in molecular biological techniques such as real time PCR, proteomics, and bioinformatics. A proven research track record would be an advantage. The fellowship is available for a minimum period of one year, with the possibility of renewal for a second year, depending on satisfactory progress. The value of the fellowship will be R200 000 per annum, which is not subject to taxation (provided the candidate adheres to certain conditions).
