Learn the basic principles of effective online communication.
Date of presentation: 9–11 June 2014
Is your institution's website due for a makeover? Or does your own small business need a website, but you don't know where to start? This workshop will teach you the basic principles of effective online communication, as well as how to communicate your web needs to a web designer.
Following the workshop, you should:
- better understand the difference between web text and hard copy;
- understand the general guidelines for page layout;
- know how to effectively organise information;
- know how to create and manage content; and
- be able to apply basic search engine optimisation.
The workshop costs are R5 500 for three days, or R2 900 per each one-and-a-half day session. The SU Skills Fund offers a limited number of SU staff members the opportunity to attend this workshop for free. However, should such sponsored staff fail to turn up, the full registration fee will be recovered from the University environments in which they are employed.
The workshop series will be presented in English, and all workshop material will be available in English only. A language-friendly approach will however be followed throughout in respect of the use of English and Afrikaans.
