You still have the opportunity to enrol for the "Positive Leadership, Positive Change: Building leadership skills with regards to Transformation, Gender, Disability and HIV in Higher education" workshop.
The workshop is designed specifically for US staff and is presented as a collaborative initiative between the Centre for Inclusivity, the Institutional HIV Office and the Office for students with Special Learning needs. Targeting middle management, academic and service staff it aims to develop the necessary knowledge, skills and attitudes in university staff to positively contribute to the management of transformation, gender, disability and HIV.
The workshop will aim to provide staff with an understanding of:
- The impact of transformation, HIV, gender roles and disability in the community and workplace.
- Definitions, basic theory and biomedical facts
- The influence of personal worldview, values and beliefs
- The role of stigma and discrimination
- The need for leaders to promote a positive workplace culture with regard to transformation, gender, HIV and disability.
This 3-day workshop will be presented from 4 – 6 November 2014.
