In the light of the approaching graduation ceremonies the Division for Corporate Marketing requests staff members to assist it in identifying “interesting degrees” for possible media coverage.
This includes:
- Degrees about interesting, unusual or topical subjects (especially Master’s or doctoral degrees).
- Degrees that were obtained under difficult circumstances, for example by students with disabilities or challenging personal circumstances.
- Students who obtain their degree at an advanced age.
- Well-known people or their children/family members receiving their degree.
- Family members receiving their degrees together (it doesn’t have to be on the same day), for example twins, mother and daughter, brother and sister, etc.
- Students that are part of (for example) a family of doctors.
- Extraordinary achievements.
- A fourth of fifth generation Matie receiving his/her degree.
- Residents of Stellenbosch receiving their degrees.
Please email a short description, contact details (for possible interviews) and the name of the person’s study leader (if applicable) to Pia Nänny at pn@sun.ac.za as soon as possible.
