Stellenbosch University places a high premium on good corporate governance. In order to comply strictly with this objective, a number of policies have been accepted to protect the integrity of the internal corporate and reporting processes. As an employee compliance with these policies also protects you.
In fact, the University feels so strongly about compliance with the policies, guidelines and procedures in support of ethical practices that an ethics hotline for the reporting of incidents, actions and trends that are not in line with the values of good corporate governance was introduced a number of months ago. Staff and students may use the ethics hotline to report any form of unethical behaviour, including sexual harassment and racial discrimination, anonymously and safely.
The ethics hotline is managed by Deloitte and functions as an independent channel. The University cannot, for example, demand to know the identity of those who report incidents. The number is 0800 20 45 49. The e-mail is sun@ethics-line.com. The contact details of the Ethics Hotline can also be found on the SU home page under the link Contact us.
