Are you interested in becoming a healthier version of yourself and manage your daily stress better? Stellenbosch University's Department of Sport Science offer an excellent opportunity to immediately turn to action and improve your quality of life and overall wellbeing.
Take part in a research study in the Department of Sport Science and receive FREE supervised exercise sessions for 16 weeks in the Stellenbosch Biokinetics Centre. The exercise sessions will focus on weight training, which is beneficial for the preservation of your bone mineral density, the prevention of osteoporosis and the increase in lean mass. You will also receive free health screening tests, including blood pressure, glucose, cholesterol, body composition analysis, resting ECG and tests to determine your brain (cognitive) function.
To qualify for the study you need to be between 55 and 75 years old, have not been involved in any structured physical fitness program within the last 3 months and do not have any bone, joint or muscle problems that can affect your exercise ability.
If you are interested in participating in this study, or if you know of someone who may be interested, or if you need additional information, you are welcome to contact Carla Coetsee (15365484@sun.ac.za) or Anzerie Naudé (15659895@sun.ac.za).
