Postdoctoral Research Fellowship at Biochemistry
Project Title: Steroid hormone receptors in health and disease
Scope of Research: The research relates to the role of steroid hormone receptors in health and disease focussing on both the relevance of glucocorticoid receptor (GR) dimerization and the role of oestrogen receptor (ER) subtypes in the chemopreventative and/or chemotherapeutic action of a Cyclopia extract in breast cancer.
The postdoctoral candidate will have the opportunity to work on individual research as well as to work within a team (doctoral, masters and honours level students), and in addition, to gain experience in supervision. This research will be conducted within the Department of Biochemistry and carries an associated full NRF grant-holder bursary for the successful applicant.

Requirement: PhD (must have graduated within the last five years)
- Extensive experience in molecular biology techniques and mammalian tissue culture
- Familiarity with rat models
- Computing literacy
PS Postdoctoral research fellows are not eligible for employee benefits since they are registered as research fellows and their bursaries are awarded tax free.
