A Post-doctoral Fellowship is available at the Department of Chemistry and Polymer Science in the exciting and dynamic Separation Science research group.
The focus of the research will be on the development of novel analytical techniques for the analysis of volatile and semi-volatile compounds using state-of-the-art chromatographic techniques, with the emphasis on multidimensional gas chromatography and mass spectrometry.
Requirements: A PhD in Analytical Chemistry (obtained within the last five years), with a thesis focused on gas chromatography and/or mass spectrometry. The applicant should demonstrate sound practical and theoretical knowledge of especially gas chromatography; hands-on experience in the maintenance of GC-MS instrumentation is preferable. The applicant should furthermore be familiar with the latest developments in sample preparation for GC analysis, and should have a proven history of publication on chromatographic topics. Experience in the analysis of natural products, especially wine, and in comprehensive two-dimensional gas chromatography and multivariate statistics would be beneficial.
Commencement of duties: 1 July 2013 or as soon as possible thereafter.
Closing date: 21 June 2013
