Postdoctoral research fellow in the
Department of Afrikaans and Dutch, Stellenbosch University

The research focus should be on community interpreting and/or translation;
OR Afrikaans Linguistics.

Field: Translation and/or interpreting; OR Afrikaans Linguistics

Host: The candidate will work under the guidance of Prof Harold Lesch, Department of Afrikaans and Dutch, Stellenbosch University

Requirements: A doctorate in translation or interpreting; OR Afrikaans Linguistics (applicant should have graduated in the last five years).

Duration of fellowship: Beginning 1 July 2016 or as soon as possible thereafter for a year with the possibility that it could be extended.

Financial assistance: a Bursary to the value of R180 000 is available (Please note that postdoctoral fellows are not entitled to any employee benefits and the bursary is granted tax free).

Closing date: 15 April 2016

Enquiries and application: The application letter should include a short statement outlining the research problem the applicant wants to investigate. This statement must also indicate the research expertise of the applicant.
