Novice doctoral supervisors are invited to take part in a study* investigating how novice supervisors develop their supervisory expertise, negotiate a supervisory identity, and relate to doctoral students.

This could help researchers to understand the dynamics of doctoral pedagogy. Participant supervisors will have the opportunity to attend a three day workshop on postgraduate supervision hosted by the SU Centre for Higher and Adult Education free of charge (14-16 August 2013, Devon Valley Hotel, Stellenbosch).

If you are interested in participating in the study, please contact dr Liezel Frick (blf@sun.ac.za) for more information.

*The study proposal has been approved by both the Division for Institutional Research and Planning and the Research Ethics Committee: Human research (Humanities).
