Maties Dance Society (MDS) did very well at the recent Intervarsity competiton, placing second overall and winning the team trophy and Spirit Cup.
The competition was hosted by Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University (NMMU) on 10 August.
Although UCT took first place in the overall competition, the Matie dancers won 10 gold medals. They also won the team trophy (where eight different dance pairs each dance a different dance) and the Spirit Cup for the team with the most gees.
Their formation dance was awarded silver.
