The Centre for Student Affairs invites you to apply for a position as monitor for the 2014 welcoming program. Applications close on 2 September 2013. See ad.

Role of a monitor:

The role of a welcoming monitor is to give an outsider’s perspective about the welcoming program of a specific residence/PSO/faculty. The group of monitors discusses daily issues and scenarios at their respective residences/PSOs/faculties and takes a balanced stance in terms of the University’s prescribed rules and values about the welcoming program.

The ideal monitor has enough experience of the residence/PSO/faculty culture to understand the origin and goal of traditions and practices, but can think critically about traditions and evaluate it from different perspectives. He/she also has the skill to form logical arguments, verbally as well as in writing.
