Horizon 2020 is the biggest EU Research and Innovation programme ever with nearly €80 billion of funding available over 7 years (2014 to 2020). Horizon 2020 brings together research and innovation and focuses on excellent science, industrial leadership and tackling societal challenges. Stellenbosch University in its capacity as a legal entity is formally registered with the EU and is officially represented by the SU LEAR (Legal and Administrative Representative). Applications require certain specific institutional documents and procedures. In order to pro-actively support our researchers, the Division for Research Development (DRD) should therefore be contacted as soon as a researcher decides to become involved in an EU application.
